The Palomino Camping Trailer construction began with the vision of Vern Landey, who wanted to design and build better quality units than those currently available in the market. In 1968, he started designing Palomino pop-up tent trailers in a small building in Savage, Minnesota. As demand for Palomino grew, Vern Landey relocated his company, Vanguard Industries, to Colon, Michigan in 1972, where he began to expand production. Over the years, Palomino RV continued to grow and expand, eventually being acquired by Forest River, Inc. in 2002 and later by Berkshire Hathaway in 2005.
